Worth Dying For

I keep hearing this song on the radio:

Someone Worth Dying For By Mikeschair

"You might be the wife, waiting up at night
You might be the man, struggling to provide
Feeling like it's hopeless
Maybe you're the son, who chose a broken road
Maybe you're the girl, thinking you'll end up alone
Praying God can you hear me?
Oh God are you listening?

Am I more than flesh and bone?
Am I really something beautiful?
Yeah I wanna believe, I wanna believe that
I'm not just some wandering soul
That you don't see and you don't know
Yeah I wanna believe, Jesus help me believe that I
Am someone worth dying for

I know you’ve heard the truth that God has set you free
But you think you're the one that grace could never reach
So you just keep asking, oh what everybody's asking

Am I more than flesh and bone?
Am I really something beautiful?
Yeah I wanna believe, I wanna believe that

I'm not just some wandering soul
That you don't see and you don't know
Yeah I wanna believe, Jesus help me believe that I
Am someone worth dying for

You're worth it, you can’t earn it
yeah the cross has proven
That you're sacred and blameless
Your life has purpose

You are more than flesh and bone
Can't you see you're something beautiful
Yeah you gotta believe, you gotta believe
He wants you to see, He wants you to see
That you're not just some wandering soul
That can't be seen and can't be known
Yeah you gotta believe, you gotta believe that you
Are someone worth dying for

You're someone worth dying for
You're someone worth dying for"

I love it, because it is so hard to believe that I am someone worth dying for. Christ and his grace are so hard to fathom. This song is a reminder to me (and to all of us!) that I am worth dying for! Jesus gave up his life for us, his perfect life, on a nasty cross and in a way that brought him so much pain. Why would he do something like that? Because he loves each one of us more than we could ever imagine.

"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13

The best part is: if I was the only person on this earth, if you were the only person on this earth, Jesus still would have suffered and died for me or for you, just so that we could spend all of eternity praising His name.

Birthday Weekend!

Last weekend was my birthday weekend. I turned 24 years old! It was a weekend of celebration which was a lot of fun.

Friday night, our friends Rod and Pam took us to dinner and a movie to celebrate. We went to a Japanese hibachi restaurant called Sakura in Athens. The food was really good, and they sang to me for my birthday!

After dinner we headed to the dollar theater to see the movie Bridesmaids. It was pretty funny! We had such a great time with great friends!

Saturday was my birthday. Jason made me breakfast, and we relaxed for awhile. Then I opened my birthday presents with my parents and Charles. My biggest gift was the Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer! I have been wanting one FOREVER. I hoped to get one as a wedding gift but as a birthday gift it's just as good!

I also got some really nice tupperware, a knife block set, and a couple of attachments for the mixer. In my family on your birthday you get to choose a place to have dinner. I love to eat so I always put a lot of thought into where I want to go. I want the food to be good, but I don't want it to be a place we go to all the time. This year I chose Maggiano's Italian Restaurant. It was a good choice. Everything was so yummy. The best part was that since Jason and I ordered off the pasta menu, we each got a second pasta dish to take home! We had Maggiano's for dinner for the next two nights!! :)

After dinner, we came home to have birthday cake. Charles made me a strawberry cake which was so delicious!

While we ate our cake we all watched the wedding video! It was fun to relive and see the day from the outside prospective. And the videographer did such a great job! We used Illuminated Videos. You can find their information here.

Sunday evening we had a burger cook out with Jason's family to celebrate my birthday. I got my first sister-in-law, aunt, and even great aunt birthday cards. Jason's mom made me a carrot cake which was also very yummy. There are so many desserts for birthdays!

I wanted to use my new mixer immediately, but I had no idea what to make since there was already birthday cake. I did get to used it on Tuesday though. I made some chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream icing from scratch! I took them in to work to share with my sweet coworkers! The mixer was awesome! It made everything go so much smoother and easier. Jason asked me if the mixer was the best birthday present ever. I had to say no because our sweet Daisy Duke was a birthday present 5 years ago. I consider her the best birthday present which means the mixer has to be second best!:)

Dillard House

When Jason went on his bachelor motorcycle ride with his sisters, they stopped at the Dillard House in Dillard, Georgia for dinner on Friday night. They had an all you can eat seafood buffet! They all thought it was so good. When we got back from our honeymoon, they wanted to go again. So one Friday night we loaded up with Jason's parents and his sister and brother-in-law. The dinner was really yummy. Although, their crab cakes were not as good as the ones Jason and I make! The Dillard House also has a petting zoo. After dinner we headed up to see the animals and feed them. It was so funny. The animals knew exactly why we were there and followed us around trying to get us to feed them. They had cows, goats, sheep, a camel, a donkey, and chickens! I took lots of pictures!!

All the animals...

The Texas Longhorn Cow was very pushy, and she had a HUGE tongue!

After feeding all the animals, we started back home. First we stopped at one of the parks to see some beautiful mountain views.

These views are gorgeous! We love the mountains. It's amazing to see God's creativity.

Long Weekend

After finally becoming a licensed pharmacist last Tuesday, I worked on Wednesday as a pharmacist! I was a little bit nervous and excited all at the same time. I am so very glad that I have already been working in Lavonia as an intern. It was easier to make the transition after working in the clinic already and watching the fill in pharmacist. The first day went pretty well. Only a few stressful moments. Thursday went even more smoothly. I really like working at the clinic a lot!

Last week Jason volunteered at a camp in Robbinsville, North Carolina called Whisper Mountain. He was supposed to come home Friday, but surprised me by coming home on Thursday night! I was so happy to see him. :)

Since we hadn't seen each other all week, we spent all day Friday together. It was good quality time. We headed down to the mall for lunch and to see Transformers 3.

We loved it! I have liked every single one of the Transformers movies. Optimus Prime is my favorite, even though normally I'm not a fan of semi trucks. We loved Dark of the Moon so much we saw it again on Sunday with my parents!

After the movie, we went to Macy's. The Dyson vacuum that we registered for was on sale in the 4th of July sale. It was very discounted plus we were able to get 10% off of it because it had been on our registry! We were able to get it with the Macy's gift cards we got for wedding gifts. We were pretty excited about it. The vacuum we had been using was old and not really good enough for the thick carpet in our apartment. Jason put the Dyson together as soon as we got it home! We immediately used it and love it! It works amazing and is so light and easy to use! We definitely recommend it. This is the one we got...

On Sunday we celebrated the 4th of July with my parents. We had grilled chicken and Charles made homemade cookies and cream ice cream! So yummy! Then we saw Transformers again!  This week we are also house sitting for some friends of ours. We are taking care of 2 dogs, a cat, and a horse. They are a handful, but it's fun!

Monday we celebrated the 4th with peach milkshakes from ChickFilA and dinner at Outback.

Today we went to North Carolina to Whisper Mountain because Jason left his computer up there last week. The camp was gorgeous! I love the North Carolina mountains. Everyone there was so nice too. Hopefully we will get to go back and visit again before the end of the summer.

I can't believe this long weekend is already over! Back to work tomorrow!
